Paderborn, November 9, 2024. On Saturday, November 9, the BENTELER Training Department opened its doors and welcomed around 1,800 visitors to the company's Training and Further Education Center. The event highlighted BENTELER’s wide range of training and retraining opportunities. There were also numerous apprenticeship activities that visitors could try out and take part in, for example welding, turning and milling, designing and programming. A major highlight was a feature where visitors could design their own component, which was produced on the spot using 3D printing and could be taken home as a souvenir.
“Our goal for the day was to make training at BENTELER a tangible experience. In order to inspire young people and support them in their career orientation, we deliberately focused on direct interaction with our apprentices and trainers, as well as a strong practical approach. This allowed guests not only to get information but also try things out for themselves and gain initial practical experience,” explains Head of Training Fabian Fricke.
First-hand information on the wide range of apprenticeships on offer
Throughout the day, apprentices, dual students and the BENTELER team of trainers were on hand to answer questions on all topics relating to training, dual study programs, internships and retraining. Students and their parents could learn about technical apprenticeships, for example in electronics, industrial mechanics and process technology, as well as commercial and IT apprenticeships. BENTELER offers training in industrial business management as well as IT. There was also extensive information about dual study courses at BENTELER, for example in the fields of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or accounting and finance.
Fabian Fricke commented: “We focus on a broad and diverse range of training opportunities. To counter the shortage of skilled workers, it’s crucial to support young people with first-class training and turn them into the experts of tomorrow. That's why we attach great importance to training and developing our own young talent.”
BENTELER to offer even more apprenticeships and study places in 2025
The special importance of training at BENTELER is also reflected in the steadily increasing number of apprenticeships and study places. While 135 junior employees started their careers at BENTELER in the summer of 2024, the company is offering around 150 places at the start of training in 2025, including over 120 in the East Westphalia region. “This year, we reached the highest number of apprentices compared to the past five years. We want to build on this in the coming year and take on even more young people. The Open Day once again showed how attractive and varied the work at BENTELER is,” says Fabian Fricke.
