BENTELER showcases new products and solutions at the Detroit Auto Show

Detroit / Paderborn, January 10, 2025. From January 10 to 20, BENTELER will present the latest products and solutions from its automotive portfolio at the Detroit Auto Show. The focus will be on Chassis and Modules, Thermal and Tubular and Structures. Additionally, the BENTELER autonomous vehicle subsidiary, HOLON, will be present at the event.

“The Detroit Auto Show is the largest automotive exhibition in the USA, which, in turn, is a key market for BENTELER. In Detroit, we are showcasing the innovations driving these efforts.” 

Product presentations from the entire portfolio

BENTELER will present a wide range of solutions from the company's full automotive portfolio. 

Highlights include, among others, a hot-formed battery tray. “As metal processing specialists, we have specific knowledge of materials and broad expertise in forming. The hot-formed solution is a cost-efficient approach optimized for crash protection and therefore particularly interesting for our customers,” explains Steve Bates, EVP Cluster North America, BENTELER Automotive Components.

In the area of thermal management, BENTELER is presenting an innovative battery cooling plate manufactured using the energy-efficient press brazing process. This process combines forming and brazing in a single production step. By using an electrically heated tool, press brazing offers high energy efficiency, outstanding process-related strength values and allows the elimination of flux. This gives a material cost advantage in all applications and opens up possibilities in the area of functional integration.

In the area of modules assemblies, the company is exhibiting front and rear axle and corner modules for the premium SUV segment. These chassis assemblies showcase a high degree of complexity featuring numerous add-on parts and variants, while meeting highest quality requirements within a global supply chain. Additionally, a front-end module for small SUVs will be shown.

BENTELER’s subsidiary HOLON will also be present at the stand and will provide information on how far the company has progressed with the vehicle development of its autonomous shuttle, the HOLON Mover. In September 2024, the company announced its intention to open the first plant for the production of its shuttles in the USA in Jacksonville (Florida). 

In addition, BENTELER made further multi-million-dollar investments in the USA last year, underlining the importance of the market: In December 2024, the company announced a new e-mobility plant in Wyoming, Michigan; in November 2024 a new threading facility opened at its steel tube facility in Shreveport, Louisiana; and in October 2024, the company announced an expansion of its Spartanburg facility in South Carolina.
